The AIMC designation denotes the highest of the memberships. Members can have one more exmination to become an Inner Circle of Magic Associate. There are approximately fifteen hundred members (including Charles, Prince of Wales, David Copperfield, Ken Dodd, Steve Allen, Wayne Dobson, Jonathan and Charlotte Pendragon, Siegfried & Roy, Michael Vincent, Dynamo, Nigel Mansell, John Archer, Professor Richard Wiseman, Andy Nyman, Paul Browning and John MacGregor), in more than 40 countries. Once the applicant succeeds, they are free to call themselves "Members of the Society" and use the letters MMC after their name. The last stage is by vote of the council members, who will approve the candidate as a member. The thesis is read by two examiners and a copy is made that goes to the library of the "Magic Circle". The exam is taken in front of a panel of judges, and the candidate must demonstrate his skill in front of the members in a rehearsed act. If the candidate is acceptable and knowledgeable enough, a magic act exam is scheduled or he can write a thesis. After the reception and application process, the candidate is invited to an interview with the examiner's secretariat, usually at the London barracks.
